‘Strictly Come Dancing’ is back on our screens with all the glitz, glamour and outstanding entertainment we need to keep us going through the dark, cold winter months! Did you know that we’ll be welcome a number of ‘Strictly’ guests to our venues over the autumn?
We’re particularly looking forward to seeing the FAB-U-LOUS Craig Revel Horwood as we look forward to his Yeovil Literary Festival debut in October. Craig will be speaking at not one but two fantastic events during the festival. The first is the Yeovil Community Arts Association Literary Dinner on Wednesday 24 October from 7pm at the Manor Hotel – the event that kicks off the entire festival. He’s promised us all the behind the scenes gossip from our favourite Saturday night show. The dinner provides a great opportunity to meet guest speakers and tickets have now sold out for this event.
Then, on Thursday 25 October at 12 noon, Craig will be heading to The Octagon Auditorium to chat to BBC Somerset’s Claire Carter all about his latest book, ‘In Strictest Confidence’. The ‘Strictly Come Dancing’ judge is also a critically acclaimed dancer, actor, director and choreographer and so we’re keen to get to know more about his illustrious career. His autobiography reveals fresh heartache over failed romances and the pain of losing his dad. He marks the milestones in his life, including turning fifty and going under the knife for a second hip operation plus a few nips and tucks!
To book tickets for Yeovil Literary Festival events you can visit our festival website: https://www.yeovilliteraryfestival.co.uk/whats-on/ or call our Box Office on 01935 422884.
But Craig isn’t the only ‘Strictly’ visitor we’ve got coming up… Over at Westlands, on Sunday 28 October, we’re excited to see the return of ‘Rip It Up’ this year starring ‘Strictly’ champions Harry Judd and Louis Smith MBE and people’s champion Aston Merrygold. This year the show will be focusing on the music and dance styles of the 1950’s! Backed by a fantastic live band, the boys will celebrate some of the most iconic sounds, sights and events from that period that transformed the 20th Century. There are just a few tickets left for this fantastic event so you’ll need to get yours soon to avoid disappointment!
On Tuesday 26 March it’s the turn of the girls as we welcome the very first all-girl ‘Strictly’ tour: ‘Here Come The Girls’. With an exciting mix of group and individual performances, ‘Strictly’ pros Dianne Buswell and Amy Dowden take to the floor along with Chloe Hewitt. (If you want to cheer them on ahead of the event, this year Amy is partnered with Danny John-Jules, who starred as Cat in the sci-fi comedy Red Dwarf, and Dianne is with YouTube star Joe Sugg). The show has been choreographed by Patrick Helm who will perform a special number with Dianne on the night. Meet and greets with the pros are also available so be sure to ask the Box Office for more details.
