Take a TEABREAK at Yeovil Together

Enjoy a brew and soak up the heart-warming show, TEABREAK, at Westlands Entertainment Venue on Sunday 6th July as part of Yeovil Together.

This summer, bring the whole family along to Yeovil Together - a free, vibrant, and welcoming celebration of Yeovil’s rich cultural diversity. The event offers a packed programme of food, music, performances, workshops and activities for all ages – and it won’t cost you a thing!

The day starts at 12pm and one of the highlights of the day is TEABREAK, a unique and uplifting dance and audio performance by acclaimed arts company Trigger. This will be the first time the North Somerset based company perform their production, TEABREAK, in Somerset, and we are delighted to be hosting them at Yeovil Together. Performances will take place at 1pm, 2.30pm and 4pm. With 45 seated spots per show and standing room available, it’s a special experience not to be missed.

In TEABREAK, audiences are invited to enjoy a complimentary cup of chai or peppermint tea, served from Trigger’s beautifully hand-painted tuk tuk, while two dancers perform among them. As you sip your tea, you’ll be guided on a gentle audio journey through the history and rituals of tea, celebrating how this simple comfort connects people across cultures and generations.

TEABREAK is just one part of an exciting line-up at Yeovil Together. The event will also feature culturally diverse food, creative workshops, live music, well-being activities, and community stalls. It’s a perfect day out for families, with something to discover around every corner.

The TEABREAK performance at Yeovil Together has been made possible thanks to the Octagon Theatre becoming an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation (NPO) and being awarded an investment of £760,000 to support arts and cultural activities in Somerset from 2023-2026. The NPO investment supports our Arts Engagement & Outreach team to develop and deliver programmes and activities that benefit health and wellbeing, enrich learning and education in and outside school and inspire and celebrate talent, creating work that will support local artists and tell “local stories”. Our work seeks to improve inclusion and remove barriers, whatever they may be, so that everyone is able to enjoy and benefit from the creative arts.

Yeovil Together will be returning to Westlands Entertainment Venue on Sunday 6 July, with the event running from 12pm – 5pm, as organised by Love Yeovil, Somerset Diverse Communities and supported by Yeovil’s Ethnic Diverse Communities.

Come along, bring the kids, try something new, and take a moment to pause and connect - with a brew in hand.
