Starting with the British children’s TV icon, Fireman Sam will be on stage with the Great Camping Adventure.
Aimed for younger audiences (but we know all parents will LOVE it) Fireman Sam is set to rescue the day, again.

Norman wants to go on an adventure to impress his friends, so when two famous animal explorers arrive in Pontypandy, he decides to follow them into the mountains. But when Norman discovers a rare red squirrel, one of the explorers decides to take the glory for themselves, leaving Norman stranded in a cave. Now it's up to Fireman Sam to save the day and ensure everyone is safe on their camping adventure!

Project Dance was formed by James Bamford who grew up in Yeovil. He has championed local talent and continues to support Westlands Entertainment Venue and the inspiring dancers and performers across the South West. Local composer Charles Harrison as created an original score for the performance.

Summer Schools and One-Day Workshops
During the Summer, The Octagon Academy and Westlands hold a range of Arts based Summer Schools and One-Day Workshops to keep your budding artist entertained.
Octagon Youth Dance Summer School
Mon 28 – Thurs 31 July 2025.
Join choreographer James Bamford and Project Dance for an inspiring and jam packed 4-day programme suitable for both absolute beginners and experienced young dancers.
Work towards producing your own dance production which will be presented at the end of the programme and learn the skills needed to bring a story to life through dance.
You will learn the fundamentals of a variety of styles including jazz, lyrical, hip hop and contemporary dance all whilst being supported in an encouraging, vibrant, and friendly environment.

Times: 10am – 4pm daily, with a longer day on Thursday 31 July until the end of the performance
Final show: Thursday at 6pm

Together, we'll craft an Escape Room, planning the storyline, creating characters, designing props, and setting up mind-blowing games. Calling all budding actors, dancing kings & queens, divas and singers!
Come and sing-your-heart-out, dance the afternoon away and spend an action-packed day working with The Octagon Theatre to make an original mini play that you will create, stage and perform in just one day.
Participants will work together as a theatre company to stage the play, learning performance techniques as they go, to perform to family and friends at the end of the day.
Working with a musical director, choreographer and director participants will learn songs and routines all pieced together with a short script. We will work with the young participants and incorporate their ideas and experiences into the piece, therefore giving them the opportunity to explore their own creative ideas.
No prior experience is needed - just lots of enthusiasm. The workshop leaders will create a relaxed and supportive environment to have fun and build confidence.

The show is tonight and there is no time to spare!
Join choreographer James Bamford and Project Dance for an exciting and unique opportunity where you will learn a routine and then perform it that very evening in the Westlands Ballroom as the curtain raiser for Project Dance Company's production of BUSK.
Suitable for all abilities, learn what it takes to get a dance piece show-ready and experience for yourself the feeling of the spotlight on your face, dancing on stage, and the applause of an audience.
